About

I'm Brendan, based in Brisbane. I've worked in IT and business systems for around 20 years, and for the last 10 or more I've been putting systems in place for trade and service businesses.

I run The Techy Side and Subbie Support Services, and I'm involved in a few other businesses, all listed on the experience page. Each of them produces its own projects.

What I'm working on now

Mostly two things. Vyne, where I'm co-founder and CTO, building an AI workflow platform for professional services. And The Techy Side, where I build reporting, integrations and custom software for trades, construction and professional services businesses.

What I like working on

Hard problems. What gets me out of bed in the morning is a business with a process or technical problem, and helping it get to a fantastic outcome.

Right now there are three I keep coming back to.

The first is AI itself, the parts of it that are still hard.

The second is process and systems: bringing AI into a business so it's built into the systems and the way the work runs, instead of slapped on the side.

The third is helping people commercialise their software. I work with businesses on their processes and systems and build the systems that run them well. Once that's working, the natural next step is turning what they've built into a product they can sell to other businesses.
